About Aimee
My name is Aimee Michaelis, and I’m a 19-year-old from the
small town of Bragg Creek, Alberta. I grew up on an animal rescue farm with my
Mum, and graduated from Springbank Community High school.
The RTBN (Radio, Television, Broadcast News) program is my
first experience with post-secondary education, and I have loved it so far. My Mum found
a pamphlet about this program, and came into my room one day and put it on my
desk and said “this would be PERFECT for you”, and I do believe she was right.
I have loved this program since day one.
My favorite parts are anchoring, reporting, and editing.
From our first semester until now, I have loved editing projects together and
editing audio. I used to compete in public speaking, and so I knew that I would
love anchoring, and am hopeful that’s where my future could take me one day.
My ultimate dream coming out of this program would be to get
into entertainment reporting – I would love to be able to interview celebrities
or work at a station like E! News. I think it would be fun, and I would get to
learn something new every day. But I really do enjoy most aspects of the
industry, not just the entertainment portion.
I am so grateful for all that this program has taught me and
the people and experiences it has brought into my life. Being on Television or
on the Radio is a passion of mine, that I am hopeful I’ll be able to achieve
thanks to the amazing instructors in the RTBN program.
